Matt is a musician, singer, songwriter & former drummer & co-songwriter in the UK guitar band Gene (1994-2004).
Matt's solo music, though rooted in a tradition of British indie rock, also has shades of country, folk & US heartland rock.
Lyrically Matt covers some political themes as well as his personal experiences of mental health, addiction & love lost & found.
He was also was a member of the bands The Go Hole, Spin, & Palace Fires. He left the music industry in 2008 to run a wine company but returned in 2021 as a solo artist & has just finished recording his debut solo LP.
Gene had success around the world including many UK top 40 hits & top 10 Lp's. They also toured the world extensively headlining many gigs & appearing at major music festivals in their active years.
